FAQs
How long are your appointments?
Your initial visit may take 60-75 minutes. Medication management follow-up visits are 30 minutes and individual therapy visits are typically 50 minutes.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
I do prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants and benzodiazepines when clinically indicated. Patients receiving stimulant prescriptions must be seen in-person at least annually.
What ages do you treat?
I treat adults aged 18 and up, including 65+.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments must be cancelled a minimum of 2 business days in advance. Late cancellations and missed appointments will be charged the full appointment fee. More information on this policy can be found in your initial consent forms.
Where will we meet?
Most visits are via telehealth to best serve your schedule, if you have a preference for in-person we will work together to accomodate your needs, I have offices in central Los Angeles and La Jolla.
I see patients who are residents of California. At this time I am not able to treat out of state patients as I am licensed in California only.
Do you take insurance?
I am not paneled by any insurance providers. If you have out-of-network benefits (usually PPO plans), your insurance company may reimburse a portion of my fee via the superbill process. Please consult with your insurance company to determine what percentage of fees they will reimburse.
How often do I need to see you?
When beginning a new medication or making significant changes, we will schedule monthly follow-ups to ensure that your medication is effective while addressing any potential side effects or concerns. Upon reaching a stable medication regimen, we will adjust the frequency of subsequent follow-up appointments together. In order to remain active with me, I require that patients are seen at least every three to six months. If you are on a stimulant medication I require follow-ups at least every three months.
For women during pregnancy and initial postpartum period, I recommend monthly follow-up visits even if you are feeling well for ongoing stability.
